Sustainability Award Winner - The Village in Daylesford
Australia’s top real estate agents, firms and projects have been celebrated at the Annual REA Group Excellence Awards gala in Melbourne.
Excitingly Hygge’s project The Village in Daylesford won the inaugural award for Excellence in Sustainability.
The award recognised Hygge as leading the charge for a sustainable future through its high-impact sustainable project - The Village.
Guiding decisions from the project's inception, sustainability in its many expressions, has shaped The Village as a much-needed smaller footprint and highly efficient townhouse housing offering in Daylesford.
The Village project sits within Middleton Field - a new neighbourhood in Daylesford also being developed by Hygge. The neighbourhood is highly walkable, promoting human-powered transport, through active connection to existing local amenities.
A limited number of townhouses at The Village are now selling through realestate.com.au with construction of the first homes commencing this year.
The REA Group’s general manager – customer excellence, Amy Read, said the awards place a spotlight on individual and team achievements across the industry.
Almost 70 data-driven and submission-based awards were given out, following more than 800 submissions for the awards, from across the nation.
With a talented design team including well known sustainable architect Breathe and landscape architect Acre, an extensive range of initiatives will be delivered through both built form and landscape design contributing to the project’s overall environmental performance.

The Hygge project team for The Village alongside local sales team from Belle Property, Daylesford - Ashlee McKee and Natalie Fagan attended the awards night hosted by REA at the Melbourne Town Hall.
The awards gala evening was a fantastic way to pause, celebrate and recognise the hard work on the design and sales launch of the project to date.
This is a noteworthy project for regional Victoria. The Village seeks to not only prove that carbon-neutral can be achieved in an aesthetically pleasing way but also encourage smaller footprint townhouse living in towns like Daylesford.
