Brick install at Lyons Place
Locally made Krause ‘Autumn’ bricks are being installed through local Ballarat bricklayers Lawler Bricklaying at Lyons Place.
Based in the Victorian town of Stawell Krause Bricks are a family owned and operated business making bespoke brick products using Australian clay from the Victorian goldfields and beyond.
With no two bricks the same, Krause Bricks are manufactured using traditional methods such as down-draught batch kilns producing unique size and colour variations between individual bricks within a batch.

The brickwork at Lyons Place plays a key role in the design of the new building by Chamberlain Architects with the extraordinary craft and detail in the brickwork of the older buildings in the central Ballarat streetscapes immediately apparent to director and architect Glen Chamberlain.
Motivated by the finer grain of these heritage buildings, Lyons Place seeks to reinstate this built form texture to a long-time vacant section of Lyons Street North with the warm, earthy Autumn Krause brick wrapping around and framing elements of the Lyons Place facacde and townhouses.
