Simple Sustainable Living

Hygge Property joined with Nightingale Housing to develop their first project in regional Victoria – Nightingale Ballarat.

Located in Ballarat Central within easy walking distance to the Ballarat Train Station and the Hospital Precinct, Nightingale Ballarat established a new regional benchmark in sustainable design and living.

Designed by Breathe the building is an elegant response to Ballarat’s late 1800s boom-era architecture with recycled brick arches and curved pop out balconies. Comprising 27 apartments, building features include a shared community rooftop garden, a café and office space.

With zero gas, the building achieves an 8+ Star NatHERS rating and is powered by solar and 100% GreenPower. Every home is cross ventilated with access to open-air walkways and operable windows.  A high-efficiency CO2 heat pump powers a shared hydronic and hot water system.  

Construction by local contractor H. Troon was completed in early 2022, with robust materials that were recycled and locally sourced wherever possible.
