Early works on the South Geelong Train Station upgrade are underway, with expected completion in late 2024. The design delivers a more modern, safe and accessible station and car park, a second platform and accessible pedestrian overpass. There will also be new landscaped forecourts on both sides of the station.

The $1 billion upgrade will also see five train services per hour during peak time and three per hour between peaks and duplicated track at the station will allow for faster recovery from unexpected delays.

The upgrade is welcome news for purchasers of the 33 townhomes and seven apartments at The Bottleworks (currently under construction). The South Geelong station, with links to Geelong, Melbourne and regional locations is an easy 10-minute walk from the site of The Bottleworks at 135 Fitzroy Street.
