What's a Green Travel Plan?

As part of a commitment to promoting sustainable living, Nightingale Ballarat has implemented a Green Travel Plan. The plan shares with residents how to make best use of nearby active and sustainable transport facilities, encouraging them to leverage existing transport infrastructure and avoid private vehicle use.

The resource, provided to residents and commercial tenants, includes strategies and information to promote the use of sustainable transport modes.

Nightingale’s central location allows residents the opportunity to walk to a vast range of nearby services and facilities. In the immediate vicinity are two public bus routes, and the Ballarat Train Station. It is also well placed with easy connection to the Principle Bicycle Network.

In the building itself there are 48 bicycle spaces, as well as a car share parking space provided as part of Uber Car Share (previously Car Next Door).

There are several car share options now available in Ballarat, following the Ballarat City Council formalising its car share policy meaning registered car share vehicles can be parked within dedicated car share parking spaces in the City of Ballarat.

A Green Travel Plan Committee has been formed as a sub-committee of the Owner’s Corporation at Nightingale Ballarat which will monitor ongoing green travel behaviour through an annual travel survey.
